Pohang City Launches Card Fee Support for Small Business Owners
Pohang-based small business owners, grappling with management difficulties due to high inflation and sluggish consumption, will see their card processing fee burden eased. Pohang City will begin a card fee support program for local small businesses as early as late April.
Eligible recipients are small business owners with annual sales of 300 million won or less in the previous year. Based on last year's card sales, support will be provided differentially, ranging from a minimum of 50,000 won to a maximum of 400,000 won per business for a portion of their card processing fees.
Even if one person operates multiple businesses, applications can be made for each location. Applications can be submitted online through a dedicated website (행복카드.kr) or in person at the Gyeongbuk Economic Promotion Agency's Eastern Branch. Specific application dates and detailed guidelines will be announced later on the Pohang City website.
Jang Sang-gil, Acting Mayor of Pohang, stated that card processing fees are an essential fixed cost for small business owners.
