Park Byeong-rae Declares Support for Kwon Ik-hyun

Former candidate Park Byeong-rae, eliminated in the Democratic Party of Korea's primary election for Buan County Mayor, publicly declared his support for preliminary candidate Kwon Ik-hyun on April 15. In his declaration of support, Park stated, “What is important now is the future of Buan and the victory of the Democratic Party,” assessing candidate Kwon Ik-hyun as a figure who will continue regional development.

Preliminary candidate Kwon Ik-hyun expressed his gratitude to former candidate Park Byeong-rae and announced his intention to adopt the pledges on responding to regional extinction and people's livelihood policies proposed by candidate Park Byeong-rae. Furthermore, preliminary candidate Kwon Ik-hyun offered former candidate Park Byeong-rae a key role in the election campaign committee.

The Democratic Party of Korea's primary election for heads of local government was conducted from April 11 to 12 using the ARS method, combining 50% of party members' votes with 50% from anonymized phone numbers. Preliminary candidates Kwon Ik-hyun and Kim Jeong-ki advanced to the runoff primary from this election, which will be held for two days from April 20 to 21.
