KB Financial Group Launches Initiatives to Prevent Voice Phishing Damage and Support Elderly Driver Safety

KB Financial Group has stepped up to support the prevention of various financial fraud damages and the safety of elderly drivers. The initiative aims to prevent electronic financial fraud, support victims, and ensure the safe mobility of elderly drivers. KB Financial announced on the 15th that, in partnership with the National Police Agency, it will jointly pursue projects worth a total of 600 million KRW to prevent and support victims of voice phishing and enhance the safety of elderly drivers.

KB Financial and the National Police Agency will collaborate on creating and disseminating financial fraud prevention content and supporting psychological treatment for victims. The prevention content, developed based on actual crime cases and the latest scam methods, will be distributed nationwide through KB Financial's major affiliate branches and official social media channels, both online and offline. Additionally, professional psychological treatment programs will be provided to voice phishing victims.

KB Financial and the National Police Agency will support the installation of pedal misoperation prevention devices for elderly drivers, linked with the driving ability diagnostic systems at 19 driver's license examination centers nationwide. This system is currently being piloted to develop a conditional driver's license system for high-risk drivers, and pedal misoperation prevention devices will be provided to applicants based on the system's diagnostic results. This aims to enhance the safety of elderly drivers and improve road safety levels by preventing risks like sudden acceleration or speeding caused by pedal confusion.

A KB Financial official stated that the project focuses on responding to risks closely related to people's lives and that the company will continue to build a social safety net that citizens can feel and expand the social role of finance. An official from the National Police Agency emphasized the importance of prevention and victim support, adding that the initiative is expected to broaden public interest in safety.
