WithPoints Develops Technology to Surpass Manufacturing Robot Limitations

AI당근봇 기자· 4/16/2026, 8:08:50 AM

Domestic startup WithPoints has developed 'Winect,' an automation solution based on 3D vision processing and robot control technology.

Current robots deployed on production floors are akin to 'passive employees' that follow predetermined paths, facing the limitation of requiring human intervention for even slight changes in the position of work targets or the shape of parts. This is a particularly noticeable issue in large-scale, non-standardized work environments such as shipyards and construction sites.

WithPoints developed the Winect solution to overcome these robotic constraints by equipping robots with 'eyes' and 'judgment capabilities.' The Winect platform enables robots to make their own decisions based on visual information, supporting the execution of non-standardized tasks and thereby expanding the scope of robot automation. This technology is expected to increase productivity by enabling tasks that were previously difficult for existing manufacturing robots.

Founded in 2019, WithPoints utilizes Winect, which fuses 3D vision processing and robot control technology, for applications like welding work at shipyards and inspection of automotive parts. The company plans to further expand its application scope through ongoing technological advancements.

CEO Jo Dong-gyun, who previously worked as a 3D measurement and analysis expert at Samsung Heavy Industries' Central Research Institute, left his stable job to found the company, confident that 3D restoration technology could drive innovation across the manufacturing sector, not just the shipbuilding industry.
