Saha District Office Inspects Smart Infrastructure at Aging Industrial Complex

Busan City conducted inspections of the operational status of advanced management systems at aging industrial complexes and carried out field drills in preparation for extreme heavy rainfall on the 16th, marking National Safety Day. The inspections and drills were conducted to assess overall disaster response capacity and strengthen comprehensive capabilities for protecting citizen safety in the event of a disaster.

Busan City inspected the operational status of smart infrastructure systems for preventing safety accidents at aging industrial complexes from the Saha District Office's CCTV Integrated Control Center. This inspection included smart infrastructure within the Seobusan Smart Valley and the linkage system with the Saha District Office's CCTV Integrated Control Center. Related agencies such as Busan City, the fire department, police, and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation participated, demonstrating the control system under simulated disaster scenarios including fire, falling rocks, crime prevention, and flooding.

The field training for extreme heavy rainfall preparedness was held at the mooring area of Hwamyeong Watersports Town in Buk-gu. This drill, led by Busan City and Buk-gu, involved the fire department, police, and the local autonomous disaster relief corps. It was conducted under the assumption of an hourly rainfall of 150 millimeters, reflecting major damage types such as flooded underpasses, stranded citizens in rivers, and flooded low-lying residential areas.

Equipment, including a drainage pump truck capable of draining 15,000 liters per minute, was deployed during the training. A total of 350 participants, including personnel from related agencies and private sector volunteers, took part in the inspection and drills.

Busan Mayor Park Hyeong-joon stated that proactive prevention is paramount for safety and that on-site response and inter-agency cooperation are key during disaster events. He added that Busan will continue to strengthen safety management system inspections and drills to set new standards for a smart safety city.
