The special prosecutor's team on the 16th demanded a two-year prison sentence for former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who was indicted on charges of perjury. The prosecution determined that Yoon made false statements regarding the process of convening a State Council meeting when he appeared as a witness in the trial of former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.

At the final hearing, the prosecution stated the reasons for the sentence demand: "He betrayed the public watching the trial to learn the truth about the emergency martial law and committed perjury, making his guilt heavy," adding, "He is repeating claims to conceal the truth."

Yoon's defense team, however, fully denied the charges, asserting that he was aware of the need to convene the State Council and had already instructed the summoning of State Council members prior to Han's suggestion.
