Pohang City Cancels All Overseas Training Amid High Oil Prices

In response to the energy crisis stemming from high oil prices and inflation, Pohang City has fully canceled its planned employee overseas training sessions scheduled for 2026.

The city made this decision based on the judgment that the public sector must lead in energy conservation efforts. The budget saved will be used to stabilize the livelihoods of ordinary citizens and respond to the crisis.

Furthermore, additional energy-saving measures are being implemented, including reducing unnecessary overseas business trips, events, and meetings, and encouraging the use of public transportation.

A Pohang City official stated that this is a time requiring focus and prioritization, and that public officials will take the initiative to overcome the energy crisis alongside citizens.
