Presidential Office Aide Urged First Lady's Aunt's Husband to 'Watch His Words': Circumstances Revealed
Evidence has emerged through recorded phone calls indicating that an official from the Presidential Office urged the husband of First Lady Kim Keon-hee's aunt to 'watch his words.'
This was confirmed through a conversation between a Shincheonji associate and a real estate agent. The call took place on October 21, 2024, four days after a parliamentary audit raised suspicions of illegal power generation activities at a factory owned by the First Lady's maternal relatives. During the audit, it was alleged that the factory had been engaged in illegal power generation for four years. In the recorded call, the real estate agent relayed that a Presidential Office aide visited the First Lady's aunt's husband after President Yoon's election, telling him to 'stop acting out, watch your words, and be cautious about everything.'
On October 21, 2024, fifteen days after the allegations were raised, the factory, which had been on the market for nearly a year, was purchased for 4.3 billion won under joint ownership between a Shincheonji associate and Kim Hye-seop, a pastor and the First Lady's aunt, who is the factory owner. This transaction allowed Kim's aunt's side to profit approximately 2.1 billion won from the price difference.
