Telecom Giants Vie for Supremacy with AI and Next-Gen Network Tech at WIS 2026

South Korea's three major mobile carriers have entered a competition at the 'World IT Show 2026 (WIS 2026)', showcasing artificial intelligence (AI) and next-generation network technologies. KT, SK Telecom, and LG Uplus will reveal their respective technologies and capabilities in future communications and the AI industry through the event, held at Seoul's COEX from March 22nd to 24th.

KT, under the theme 'Connection', will present its AI Transformation (AX) platform vision, exhibiting 27 innovative technologies including its AX platform and 6G. Within the AX platform space at the KT exhibition hall, visitors can experience 'Eum-M-kye Pro', KT's self-developed AI model. AI and cloud-based AICC (AI Contact Center) and AX services in the security and safety sectors will also be introduced. The 6G exhibit will showcase an intelligent infrastructure where networks can independently make judgments and communicate. In the Physical AI domain, application cases for industrial sites where various heterogeneous robots collaborate based on 'K RaaS' will be demonstrated.

SK Telecom has organized its 864㎡ exhibition hall with the concept 'All About AI', encapsulating its 'Full-Stack AI' capabilities from infrastructure and models to services. The exhibition hall is divided into five zones: Network AI, AI DC Solution, AI Model, Agent AI, and Physical AI. The Network AI zone will present next-generation communication infrastructure through AI RAN and AI Agents for networks. The AI DC Solution zone will showcase Korean-style AI infrastructure standards with K-Sovereign GPUaaS (Haein), AI DC Infrastructure Manager, and AI Inference Factory. The AI Model zone will highlight its Sovereign AI strategy by unveiling the LLM 'A.X (A.dot X)' and the ultra-large model 'A.X K1' with 500 billion parameters. The Agent AI zone allows visitors to experience everyday AI services such as A.dot Phone, Note, and Auto. The Physical AI zone will demonstrate AI's ability to act in the real world through digital twins and robot training platforms.

LG Uplus is differentiating itself by operating a standalone booth for the first time at this event, under the theme 'Human-Centric AI'. The focus is on presenting future services that naturally connect people and technology, centered around Voice AI. The exhibition booth comprises AI Agents, AI Contact Center, and AI Infrastructure, allowing visitors to experience the technologies through hands-on content simulating real-world usage scenarios. LG Uplus will introduce AI Agents that proactively suggest actions by analyzing user speech and context through its representative technology, 'ixi-O pro'. Furthermore, 'Voice AI Media Art: Bloom', a collaboration with the UK media artist group Universal Everything, will be unveiled in Korea for the first time. This artwork generates personalized media art based on visitors' voices, analyzing their emotions and tones, thereby showcasing the expandability of Voice AI.
