Trump Extends Iran Ceasefire at Pakistan's Request
U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to extend the ceasefire period with Iran, following a mediation request from Pakistan. This move aims to prevent the imminent end of the ceasefire amid uncertainty surrounding the second round of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, which has led to delays in settlement talks.
The escalating uncertainty in negotiations has impacted international oil and stock markets. West Texas Intermediate crude prices rose compared to the previous day, while the stock market turned downward, with the S&P 500 index closing lower.
The U.S. Treasury Department has added four entities and eight individuals to its sanctions list as part of its pressure campaign against Iran.
