Kim Jong Un Sets New Goal for National Revitalization

North Korea has reportedly set 'Comprehensive National Revitalization' as its new development goal. This new slogan, a shift from the previous 'building our-style socialism,' suggests that the direction of national development led by Chairman Kim Jong Un will encompass overall growth, including the economy, society, and local regions, not solely focusing on defense.

This slogan, which appears to stem from the results of the 9th Party Congress, is being heavily promoted through North Korean media.

North Korean authorities have expressed confidence, stating, 'We need both candy and bullets, and when we decide, we can make anything.' Ri Il-hwan, a Propaganda and Agitation Department secretary, indicated that an era has begun where debates over the priority of defense versus the economy are unnecessary. North Korea has presented a national development plan that includes maintaining and strengthening defense capabilities alongside economic development and improving people's livelihoods.
