National Assembly Committee Inspects Financial Watchdogs for Fact-Finding

The National Assembly's Special Committee for Fact-Finding on Allegations of Fabricated Prosecutions by the "Yoon Suk-yeol Administration's Political Prosecutors" conducted on-site investigations at the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) and the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) on the 23rd. The committee carried out a private on-site inspection for about an hour at the FSS in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, concerning the "alleged cover-up of Ssangbangul stock manipulation."

Park Sung-joon, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the prosecution's alleged failure to address stock manipulation allegations by Ssangbangul and the suspected fabrication of evidence based on testimony, after the FSS investigation.

Lee Sang-hwi, a lawmaker from the People Power Party, characterized the Democratic Party-led parliamentary investigation as "illegal and unlawful," arguing that the on-site inspection was an attempt to establish allegations of coercion in the investigation into remittances to North Korea.
