ChatGPT Tackles NFL Draft Predictions
ChatGPT, the latest artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, has attempted to predict the results of the first round of the U.S. professional football (NFL) Rookie Draft, comparing its predictions against those of human experts. IT media outlet OutKick's reporter Dan Zaksheske announced his final mock draft results and then asked ChatGPT for its own complete first-round prediction, comparing the two.
Both predictions agreed on Fernando Mendoza (QB, Indiana) as the No. 1 overall pick. Predictions diverged from the second pick onward. ChatGPT anticipated Arvell Reese, while Zaksheske selected David Bailey. The predictions flipped for the third pick: ChatGPT chose Bailey (David Bailey), and Zaksheske selected Arvell Reese.
At the fourth pick, both predictions aligned, anticipating the selection of Jeremiyah Love (RB, Notre Dame). For the fifth pick, ChatGPT projected Sonny Styles, and Zaksheske predicted Francis Mauigoa. In the sixth pick, ChatGPT foresaw Spencer Fano, and Zaksheske predicted Carnell Tate. The seventh pick saw ChatGPT's and Zaksheske's predictions go head-to-head.
