People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyuk Meets US Public Diplomacy Official

Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of South Korea's People Power Party, met with Kebvin Wax, the Assistant Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, during his 8-day, 10-night visit to the United States. The meeting, which was held at the request of the People Power Party delegation, took place after Jang's schedule, originally set to conclude with his return to Korea on the 17th, was extended due to contact from the US State Department.

Wax briefed the delegation on the State Department's public diplomacy initiatives and stated that the meeting demonstrated the US's willingness to engage with diverse interlocutors.

The People Power Party distributed a photograph to the press corps showing the back of Leader Jang during the meeting, identifying the official only as 'Assistant Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs' without specifying the individual's name or face.
