Former KCC Chief Lee Jin-sook Withdraws from Daegu Mayoral Race

Lee Jin-sook, former Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), who was eliminated from the People Power Party's primary for the Daegu mayoral race, announced on the 25th that she would not run for the Daegu mayoral election.

This decision has temporarily settled the internal competition surrounding the selection of the People Power Party's Daegu mayoral candidate. With Lee Jin-sook, following Representative Joo Ho-young, also deciding not to run, the conflict over the People Power Party's Daegu mayoral nomination has effectively entered its final stage.

The People Power Party plans to finalize its candidate on the 26th by combining the results of the responsible party members' vote and public opinion polls, and will then begin to solidify a 'one team' structure.
