Apartment Manager Found Guilty of Illegally Recording Staff and Resident Conversations

A 50-year-old man, who was an apartment complex manager, has received a suspended prison sentence from the court on charges of illegally recording conversations between employees and residents.

On the 16th, the Wonju Branch of the Chuncheon District Court sentenced Housing Manager A (54), who was indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Illegal Recording of Communications, to six months in prison and a one-year suspension of qualification, but decided to suspend the execution of the sentence for a certain period.

A is accused of secretly recording conversations multiple times with employee B and visitors using his work mobile phone in March of last year, while working as the manager of an apartment complex in Wonju, Gangwon Province.
