Chicken Franchises Enter the 600 Billion Won Annual Revenue Era

Ten major domestic chicken brands have set a new record, exceeding 600 billion won in total revenue last year. Dining Brands, operator of industry leader BHC, led the growth of the chicken franchise sector by posting 614.7 billion won in revenue last year.

BBQ and Kyochon Chicken also joined the 'Big 3,' achieving revenues of 528 billion won and 517.4 billion won, respectively. Several other brands surpassed 100 billion won in revenue, including Goobne Chicken with 239.4 billion won, 60 Chicken with 158.6 billion won, Puradak with 136.4 billion won, Nono Tongdak with 133.5 billion won, and Cheogajip with 122.1 billion won.

Chicken has become a relatively high-satisfaction menu item in terms of price, influenced by rising food costs. Alongside diversified consumption methods like delivery and takeout, chicken has established itself as a staple dining-out option. Recently, one chicken company increased the price of its signature menu item to 26,000 won on a delivery app, with the total cost for one chicken reaching up to 30,000 won including delivery fees.
