Song Eon-seok Urges Caution on 'Changing Generals Before Election'

Song Eon-seok, Floor Leader of the People Power Party, on April 28, stated his position that discussions within the party regarding the party leader's tenure ahead of the upcoming June 3 local elections are 'misplaced in priority' and require caution.

Appearing on SBS 'Joo Young-jin's News Briefing' on the 28th, Song argued regarding the necessity of Party Leader Jang Dong-hyuk's resignation or stepping back, which has been raised about a month before the June 3 local elections, saying, "We need to be a bit cautious about the idea of changing generals right before a war."

Song advocated for the stance that "Rather than assigning blame and discussing tenure, we must focus on the election now," adding a fundamental question about whether the issue of the party leader's tenure would directly lead to an increase in approval ratings.
