KB Financial to Launch 100 Billion Won Venture Fund for Startup Investment

KB Financial Group is set to bolster innovative startups by establishing a new venture investment fund worth 100 billion won. The financial group announced on the 1st that it will launch this fund in cooperation with financial authorities and revealed specific support measures designed to help promising early-stage companies grow into global enterprises.

KB Financial Group will participate in the establishment of a 150 billion won cooperative guarantee program, funded jointly by the financial sector. This includes providing substantial financial support such as a full waiver of guarantee fees and a 100% guarantee ratio for prospective entrepreneurs. KB Kookmin Bank, through a 'Growth-Oriented Small Business Cultivation Cooperative Guarantee' program worth 100 billion won, will focus on rapidly supplying liquidity to local startup companies.

Beyond financial assistance, KB Financial Group will offer financial mentoring leveraging its internal experts. Through collaboration with affiliated venture capital firms like KB Investment and by utilizing KB Kookmin Bank's mentoring and accelerating programs, growth resources will be linked across the entire startup lifecycle. Promotional support will also be provided via the group's flagship apps, including KB Star Banking.
