Trump's Disapproval Rating Hits Record High During Presidency
A poll shows that the negative evaluation of US President Donald Trump's job performance has reached its highest level during his term. This indicates a high level of public dissatisfaction with President Trump's governance.
The survey was conducted by The Washington Post in collaboration with ABC News and Ipsos from March 24-28 among 2,560 US adults, with a margin of error of ±2.0%p. The results showed President Trump's job approval rating at 37%. The disapproval rating hit a record high of 62%. Regarding the response to the war in Iran, 66% opposed it, while the approval rating for economic management stood at 34%. 76% of respondents opposed President Trump's response to cost of living issues.
49% of registered voters stated they would vote for the Democratic Party, compared to 44% for the Republican Party. The Washington Post analyzed that these results could pose a burden for Republicans in maintaining their House majority and securing Senate seats ahead of the November midterm elections. The proportion of respondents who deemed the midterm elections important and those who indicated they would definitely vote were both higher among Democratic supporters than Republican supporters.
