Daegu Mayoral Race: Kim Bu-gyeom, Chu Kyung-ho in Tight Race Within Margin of Error

According to the results of a second poll conducted by Daegu MBC from May 2-3 among 1,004 Daegu citizens, Democratic Party candidate Kim Bu-gyeom garnered 45.9% support and People Power Party candidate Chu Kyung-ho received 42.4% support in the Daegu mayoral race. The gap between the two candidates was 3.5 percentage points. Job creation was identified as the top priority issue for Daegu citizens, receiving 51.9% of the vote. This was followed by the relocation of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport at 15.2%, fostering future industries like AI at 13.9%, administrative integration of Daegu-Gyeongbuk at 9.4%, and resolving the water source issue at 4.3%.

People Power Party Gyeongbuk gubernatorial candidate Lee Cheol-woo and Daegu mayoral candidate Chu Kyung-ho visited former President Park Geun-hye. The candidates stated they visited to pay their respects as a matter of duty. Former President Park Geun-hye offered words of encouragement, wishing them success and victory. Democratic Party lawmaker Im Mi-ae commented that the visit by Lee and Chu to former President Park was likely aimed at consolidating conservative support.
