Gyeongju Hospital Apologizes for Administering Expired IV Fluid to Patient

An incident occurred at a general hospital in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, where IV fluid that had been expired for over two years was mistakenly administered to a patient.

The hospital confirmed the facts and apologized to the patient. Patient B was diagnosed with no significant health issues through blood tests and other examinations afterwards, but reportedly remains anxious about any potential future complications.

The hospital acknowledged the incident and immediately conducted a full inventory check of medications in the ward. According to the hospital, no other expired medications were found during the investigation. The hospital also stated that an internal audit would be conducted on the staff members working in the ward at the time.

Hospital A stated, "We apologize for this regrettable incident occurring to an admitted patient," and added, "We will pay closer attention to patients' health status and treatment plans."
