Trump Coordinates Stances on Iran and China Ahead of Xi Meeting
U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed China's stance on Iran amid heightened tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, ahead of his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing next week. Trump stated that China has not challenged the U.S. on the issue of Iran and that President Xi has shown a respectful attitude. He expressed appreciation for China's non-confrontational approach, despite its significant reliance on oil imports through the Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump announced that his meeting with President Xi in Beijing will take place from May 14-15, noting that this visit to China influences the international response to the Iran issue and U.S.-China relations.
Meanwhile, President Trump commented that the U.S. is gaining significant benefits from its trade with China, adding that the Iranian regime would struggle to survive if it did not cooperate with the U.S.
