Daegu City Secures 24.7 Billion Won in National Funds, Accelerates Robot and AI Manufacturing Transition Projects

Daegu City will fully launch related projects after securing 24.7 billion won in national funds for the fields of humanoid robots and manufacturing artificial intelligence (AI). The city was simultaneously selected on the 30th of last month for the 'Humanoid Robot Safety Certification Center Construction Project' and the 'Manufacturing AI Data Value Chain Construction Project,' both supervised by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

18.7 billion won in national funds will be invested over five years at the National Robot Test Field site to establish a Humanoid Robot Safety Certification Center that will serve as a hub for verifying the safety of humanoid robots and preparing for international regulations.

The Manufacturing AI Data Value Chain Construction Project's core is to induce AI transformation by establishing a system for data collection, evaluation, and certification for Daegu's traditional manufacturing industries, such as precision processing. A total of 22.5 billion won will be invested over five years, providing one-stop support for local manufacturing companies, from distributing data collection devices to on-site consulting.
