Man Utd Ready to Spend £60m on Tottenham Defender

Manchester United (Man Utd) is planning to invest approximately £55 million to £60 million (around 109.8 billion to 119.8 billion KRW) to sign Tottenham Hotspur's key defender Micky van de Ven, British media outlet GiveMeSport reported on the 5th.

Man Utd secured their return to the UEFA Champions League for the first time since the 2023-24 season with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League match held on the 3rd. Analysis suggests that Man Utd has the financial capacity to afford this move through the departures of high-wage players such as Casemiro and Jadon Sancho.

Tottenham attempted contract negotiations with Van de Ven last year, but no progress was made. Van de Ven is reportedly demanding a weekly wage of £200,000 (approximately 400 million KRW) at his next club, an increase from his current earnings of £100,000-£120,000 (approximately 100 million to 140 million KRW) at Tottenham.
