Gimhae Mayoral Candidate Hong Tae-yong Unveils Key Pledges Across 7 Sectors

Hong Tae-yong, the candidate for Gimhae Mayor from the People Power Party, announced pledges across seven major sectors including healthcare, education, welfare, culture, sports, and safety on the 6th.

The candidate presented the creation of a 'Gimhae Healthcare Self-Sufficiency City' as a core objective, revealing his plan to ensure citizens can fully access necessary medical services within Gimhae. To this end, he pledged to establish a university hospital-level essential healthcare system, promptly commence construction of a public medical center, expand the 'Moonlight Children's Hospital,' build a new Jinyeong Health Promotion Center, and construct a public nursing home in the western region.

Pledges for the education sector include providing differentiated educational services for each elementary and middle school grade level, and the establishment and designation of three excellent high schools (including specialized vocational high schools). In the welfare sector, measures to resolve welfare gaps across life cycles were presented, such as expanding daycare centers for underserved children and smart senior centers, and building a support system for isolated and reclusive youth.

For sports and culture, commitments include building an international-scale indoor gymnasium and creating the nation's largest themed public playground. Tourism development in the Nakdong River basin of the southeastern region and the promotion of the 'Cultural City 3.0' project were also included in the pledges.

Safety policies proposed include the 'Single Female Household Safety Package,' the introduction of an AI-integrated disaster safety management system, the operation of 'Safe Smart School Buses,' and the creation of 'CCTV-equipped Safe Alleys' through the CPTED technique, aiming to complete a safe city free from crime, accidents, and disasters.
