US, Iran Nearing Agreement on Ending Hostilities, Nuclear Issues
Speculation is emerging that the United States and Iran are close to reaching an agreement to resolve the nuclear issue. Some sources reported that Iran could agree to a plan to export highly enriched uranium, a key point in the cessation of hostilities negotiations, adding that its transfer to the U.S. is also being considered.
U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Steve Wittekoff and Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, are reportedly in direct or indirect negotiations with the Iranian side using a mediating country. Some sources stated that direct talks have been held between Special Envoy Wittekoff and Iranian officials. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that they are reviewing the U.S. proposal and will convey Iran's consolidated position to Pakistan, the mediating country.
Iran's semi-official ISNA news agency reported that some of the Axios report's content is speculation, and that the current subject of discussion is the 'end of war' issue, with the nuclear problem not being on the agenda at this stage.
