Samsung Display Accelerates US Recruitment Drive for PhD Talent
Samsung Display is accelerating its recruitment of PhD-level talent in the United States to secure leadership in the future display industry.
The company held a 'Tech Forum' in Los Angeles (LA), USA, on the 5th (local time), inviting approximately 50 outstanding PhD candidates to introduce the company's vision and organizational culture. This LA Tech Forum was held in conjunction with 'Display Week,' the world's largest display industry event. Key executives, including Lee Joo-hyung, Head of Samsung Display's Small and Medium Business Division (Vice President), attended the event and gave lectures on the theme 'The Convergence of AI and OLED, Opening New Interfaces.' The Tech Forum was operated with a focus on networking rather than a one-way presentation, allowing participants to consult on job roles and organizational culture related to their respective fields of expertise.
Following the LA event, Samsung Display will engage in talent acquisition in the North American region through 'Roadshow Recruitment Briefings' starting in San Jose on the 7th, and continuing in major US cities such as Chicago, Boston, and Atlanta.
Industry analysts suggest that Samsung Display is aggressively pursuing young engineering talent in the US to maintain its technological edge in the competition for OLED and next-generation displays, crucial for the AI era.
Samsung Display also continues its overseas recruitment activities, holding Tech Forums in Japan annually in October with local executives participating. Hundreds of talents have participated in recruitment events held in North America and Japan since 2022.
Lee Joo-hyung, Head of Samsung Display's Small and Medium Business Division, emphasized that 'people' are the key to leading innovation in the rapidly changing display market in the AI era. He added that he hopes outstanding talents active on the global stage will lead a new future with Samsung Display.
