Father Kills Immigrant Who Attempted to Carjack 8-Person Family Vehicle; Police Investigating

A father in Texas fatally shot an illegal immigrant who attempted to carjack the vehicle carrying his 8-person family. The suspect had reportedly attempted to steal several vehicles by force at a nearby gas station shortly before the incident.

Ramirez reportedly approached the driver's side of the vehicle, struggled with the father, and attempted to pull him out of the car. He then entered the driver's seat and tried to start the vehicle, prompting the family, including a baby, to quickly exit. Ramirez, identified as an illegal immigrant of Mexican nationality, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was not carrying a weapon at the time but used significant physical force.

A manager at a store near the scene witnessed the suspect attempting to break into multiple vehicles and stated that the suspect did not appear to be in a normal state when their eyes met. The manager expressed relief that the father was able to protect himself and his family.

Police are cooperating with the father on the scene, and no charges have been filed against him at this time. Investigators have an initial assessment that the incident may have been an act of self-defense.
