Man Missing on Mudeungsan Mountain Found Alive After Five Days
A man in his 30s, who had been missing on Mudeungsan Mountain in Gwangju, was safely rescued after five days of intensive police searches. The man had gone out for exercise, lost his way, and had been out of contact with his family.
Through analysis of CCTV footage, police confirmed that Mr. A left his home, took a taxi towards Jeungsimsa Temple, and then headed towards the Mudeungsan hiking trail in the direction of Saeinbong Peak. The search team determined that Mr. A might have been stranded while hiking and launched a search operation.
Drones and search dogs were deployed, and police searched for Mr. A for five days, focusing on the Mudeungsan area. On the morning of the 1st of this month, the fifth day of the search, police, while concentrating their efforts in the Saeinbong Peak area, discovered Mr. A collapsed off the hiking trail.
Mr. A showed signs of dehydration and exhaustion, having survived for five days on two bottles of water. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment and is currently recovering. The police search led to his survival.
