Foreign Worker Policy to Shift to Integrated Management Across Entire Process
The Ministry of Employment and Labor held a discussion with Democratic Party lawmakers at the National Assembly Members' Office Building on the 12th to discuss measures for the integrated management of the entire foreign worker employment policy process. Second Vice Minister Kwon Chang-joon announced plans to complete an 'Integrated Support Roadmap for Foreign Workers' to enhance the sustainability of the labor market.
With the number of foreign nationals employed in Korea exceeding 1.1 million, the government will establish a system for integrated management of the entire process, from the introduction of foreign workers to their settlement.
Vice Minister Kwon explained improvements to the Employment Permit System, which will support the growth of unskilled foreign workers and expand long-term residency opportunities for skilled and talented individuals, while considering both the human rights of foreign workers and domestic jobs.
