10 Chungbuk Incumbent Chiefs Seek Re-election in Local Elections
As candidate registration for the June 3 local elections begins, 8 out of the 10 incumbent heads of local governments in Chungbuk Province will challenge for their seats again in the upcoming elections. Among these, seven incumbents from the People Power Party and one from the Democratic Party are running for re-election.
Cho Byung-ok, the County Head of Eumseong, is the only incumbent seeking a third consecutive term. Former Chungju Mayor Cho Gil-hyung and former Jincheon County Head Song Ki-seop are ineligible to run in this election due to term limits.
The candidates' policy pledges and visions for regional development will influence voters' choices.
