A poll ahead of the June 3 local elections shows support for the ruling and opposition parties in Seoul tied at 40%, with the Democratic Party expressing tension and the People Power Party showing anticipation.

In a national poll, 44% responded that 'ruling party candidates should win more,' while 33% said 'opposition party candidates should win more.' This represents a significant decrease from the average 17-percentage-point gap observed in March-April surveys. Specifically in the Seoul region, responses for 'ruling party candidate victory' and 'opposition party candidate victory' were both 40%, erasing the gap seen in the survey conducted two weeks prior, when ruling party candidates held an 8-percentage-point lead.

The Democratic Party is closely monitoring these shifts in support, signaling its concern. The party stated its intention to meticulously observe public opinion trends throughout the election campaign and to conduct campaigns aimed at translating structural perceptions into votes.
