Four Out of Ten Gangwon Candidates Have Criminal Records
Nearly four out of ten candidates in the Gangwon region for the 6.3 local elections have criminal records. According to the final candidate registration results for the 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections, 184 out of 490 total candidates in the Gangwon region reported past criminal convictions.
By constituency, candidates with criminal records were confirmed among one gubernatorial candidate, 20 candidates for heads of local government, 42 for provincial council seats, 113 for district council seats, 3 for provincial proportional representation, and 5 for district proportional representation.
Conversely, all four candidates running for superintendent of education had no criminal records.
