People Power Party Criticizes Foreign Press Complaint as 'Arrogant View of the Media'

The People Power Party criticized the Blue House's protest letter to Bloomberg News regarding its report on Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom's 'national dividend' proposal, calling it an 'arrogant view of the media aimed at stifling the press.'

Park Choong-kwon, spokesperson for the People Power Party's Central Election Committee, pointed out in a commentary that the Blue House's action represents the arrogance of power trying to stifle the media by labeling legitimate concerns as slanderous manipulation. Park criticized the Blue House's explanation that the proposal was a review of national dividend measures utilizing 'excess tax revenue' instead of 'excess profits,' calling it 'cowardly wordplay' and 'backwards responsibility-shifting.'

He added that such an attitude would only draw ridicule from the global capital market.
