Yang Hyang-ja Criticizes Samsung Electronics Strike Plans: "Key National Industry Cannot Be Stopped"

Yang Hyang-ja, a Gyeonggi Province gubernatorial candidate for the People Power Party, expressed concern over the possibility of a Samsung Electronics union general strike, calling it a "dangerous idea to halt a key national industry."

In an emergency press conference held on the 16th, Yang emphasized that the Samsung Electronics semiconductor industry, which forms the backbone of the Korean economy, is not the property of a specific company but a crucial driving force supporting the national economy.

Yang explained that the public grants preferential treatment such as tax reductions and priority supply of electricity and water to the semiconductor industry precisely because of its importance as a strategic national industry.
