Busan Buk-gap By-election: Park Min-sik Claims 'Poll Sample Contamination,' Han Dong-hoon Cries 'Desperate Move'
Ahead of the Busan Buk-gap by-election, People Power Party candidate Park Min-sik raised suspicions of poll sample contamination, drawing a strong rebuke from independent candidate Han Dong-hoon, who labeled the assertion as a "desperate move." Park Min-sik had raised suspicions that the poll samples used in campaigning may have been politically contaminated.
In response, Han Dong-hoon described Park Min-sik's claim as a "desperate move" and argued that negating poll results is tantamount to abandoning the fight for victory. He pointed out that recent poll trends in a three-way race show him in first place, with Park trailing in third. Han emphasized that he is the only candidate capable of defeating the Democratic Party nominee.
A poll conducted by Ace Research for the Busan Ilbo on April 23-24 among 502 voters in Busan's Buk-gap district showed Han Dong-hoon leading with 38.2%. The same poll placed Ha Jung-woo at 34.0% and Park Min-sik at 23.3%. The margin between Han Dong-hoon and Ha Jung-woo was 4.2 percentage points, placing them within the margin of error (±4.4 percentage points) in a close contest.
