Jang Dong-hyuk Appeals for Support, Calling for Judgment on Lee Jae-myung Administration

Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, on the 26th, eight days before the June 3 local elections, appealed for support, stating that the 'arrogance and recklessness' of the Lee Jae-myung administration must be judged and the rule of law and people's livelihoods must be protected. Jang held a press conference at the party's central headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, emphasizing that the upcoming election is an opportunity to correct the administration's policy failures and revive the economy and people's livelihoods.

He criticized the administration's economic policy failures, citing the current situation of high inflation, high interest rates, and high exchange rates. He specifically pointed out that due to failed real estate policies, apartment prices and jeonse/monthly rental prices have risen more significantly than during the Moon Jae-in administration.

Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, defined the push for a 'Special Prosecutor Act to Cancel Indictments' as 'destroying the Constitution.' He argued that unlike President Lee Jae-myung's statement, 'If you've committed a crime, go to jail,' the president, immediately after taking office, is attempting to dismantle the judicial system by halting five trials, increasing the number of Supreme Court justices, introducing a fourth-instance review, and creating a new 'law distortion offense.' Jang warned that if this is not judged in the local elections, a 'dictatorship with a collapsed rule of law' will begin.

Regarding the recent Starbucks controversy, Jang criticized the government and police for mobilizing their full force to attack it, calling it 'fear politics aimed at covering up the public's anger over the special prosecutor bill to cancel indictments.'

He reiterated his appeal for support, emphasizing the choice of candidates like Seoul Mayor candidate Oh Se-hoon, Busan Mayor candidate Park Hyeong-jun, Incheon Mayor candidate Yoo Jeong-bok, and national assembly members Yang Hyang-ja and Choo Kyung-ho, individuals who can revitalize their regions and the nation.
