Israel Denies Detaining, Assaulting Koreans Aboard Gaza-Bound Vessel

Israel has fully denied allegations that two South Koreans aboard a vessel heading for the Gaza Strip were detained or subjected to physical abuse by the Israeli military.

The Israeli Embassy in Seoul officially announced that the South Korean activists were released immediately after being intercepted and are not currently in detention.

On May 23, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the acting Israeli Ambassador to Korea to raise the issue concerning the South Korean activists, conveying the government's grave concerns.
