A Stanford University study found that employment rates for young workers in jobs heavily exposed to AI significantly decreased after the spread of generative AI, a phenomenon not observed in jobs with less AI exposure. This suggests that AI is replacing the foundational tasks that young workers relied on as a stepping stone when they first entered the workforce.
