Democratic Party Criticizes Independent Candidates Han Dong-hoon, Kim Kwan-young
On May 29, the Democratic Party voiced criticism against independent candidates Han Dong-hoon, running in Busan's Buk-gap constituency, and Kim Kwan-young, running for Jeonbuk governor, on the first day of early voting for local elections and National Assembly by-elections. Democratic Party Election Committee Chief Spokesperson Jo Seung-rae labeled Han Dong-hoon as 'a politician mimicking Yoon Suk-yeol' and Kim Kwan-young as someone who 'lies as easily as eating a meal'.
The Busan Election Commission has requested a police investigation into allegations of Han Dong-hoon operating a 'pseudo-election office' to determine if it violates the Public Official Election Act.
Jo Seung-rae, the Democratic Party's Chief Campaign Spokesperson, criticized Kim Kwan-young, who is running as an independent after being expelled from the party due to allegations of paying proxies in cash, stating that he 'lies as easily as eating a meal.' Representative Jo added, regarding Kim's potential attempt to rejoin the party if elected, 'We can forgive once, but can we forgive a second time?'
