Busan Mayoral Election: Candidates Trade Allegations, Sparking Complaints

With the Busan mayoral election approaching, the camp of Democratic Party candidate Jeon Jae-soo has raised allegations concerning 'Jo Hyun Gallery,' an art gallery operated by the family of People Power Party candidate Park Hyung-joon. The Jeon Jae-soo campaign alleged that Park's family signed additional housing lease contracts under the name of Jo Hyun Gallery, and this is part of an offensive that refutes Park's achievements during his tenure as Busan mayor.

Park Hyung-joon's campaign has filed a complaint with the police against Jeon Jae-soo for violating the Public Official Election Act and obstructing business, intensifying the conflict between the two sides. Park's campaign reported Jeon Jae-soo to the police, viewing his allegations regarding Jo Hyun Gallery as a violation of the Public Official Election Act (dissemination of false information) and obstruction of business.

Furthermore, Park's campaign counter-attacked by repeatedly raising allegations of abuse of power (ordering the early installation of a funeral flower stand) made by Jeon Jae-soo's former aide, demanding explanations.
