People Power Party Files Complaint Against Choo Mi-ae for Alleged Dissemination of False Information

The People Power Party has filed a complaint with the police against Choo Mi-ae, a Gyeonggi Province Governor candidate from the Democratic Party, on charges of spreading false information while explaining allegations about her son's military service during a TV debate.

The People Power Party's Central Election Committee's Clean Election Headquarters announced in a press release today that it had filed a complaint against Candidate Choo with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on charges of disseminating false information under the Public Official Election Act.

The Clean Election Headquarters pointed out that Candidate Choo stated in a TV debate for Gyeonggi Province Governor candidates hosted by the Election Broadcasting Debate Commission on May 27, in response to a question about allegations concerning her son's military service, that the matter was 'concluded with no charges'. The People Power Party stated its position is to ensure the fairness of the election through this complaint.
