Residents Fearful After Hammer-Wielding Man Threatens to Kill

A man in his 60s caused residents to feel anxious after he roamed a residential area late at night, wielding a hammer and shouting, "I will definitely kill one person." The man wandered the neighborhood, engaging in threatening behavior.

Police, who received a report, were dispatched and arrested the suspect on the spot within about 10 minutes.

Police, noting that the man apprehended at the scene was speaking incoherently and his statements were inconsistent, investigated the circumstances of him possessing the hammer and then took him for emergency hospitalization to assess his mental health status. Police reviewed whether to apply the 'possession of a weapon in a public place' charge.
