Han Dong-hoon's First Assembly Visit: 'No Need to Rush Rejoining Party'

Han Dong-hoon, former interim leader of the People Power Party, expressed a cautious stance on rejoining the party as an independent lawmaker upon his first attendance at the National Assembly. Having won the by-election for the Busan Buk-gap constituency in the April 10 general election, Han, beginning his first legislative activities, conveyed his sentiment that "there is no reason to rush" the timing of his party readmission.

Earlier, Han was reported to have told lawmakers within his faction that they should "not rush the issue of readmission."

A first-term lawmaker, identified as 'A', told Yonhap News in a phone call that "there is no need to beg when we hold the moral high ground and the initiative," adding that he and Han Dong-hoon had reached a consensus that "there is no reason to rush."
