Samsung Electro-Mechanics Signs 1.5 Trillion Won Silicon Capacitor Supply Deal

Samsung Electro-Mechanics is set to supply AI semiconductor solutions after signing a 1.5 trillion won silicon capacitor supply contract. This deal comes as the competition in AI semiconductor performance expands to include power stability, highlighting the critical importance of instantaneous power supply.

On the 11th, Samsung Electro-Mechanics held a briefing session led by Group Head Kim Won-ki at the Samsung Electronics press room in Jung-gu, Seoul, introducing the principles, development process, and differentiating technologies of its silicon capacitors.

This component offers ESL characteristics over 100 times lower than conventional MLCCs and an ultra-thin design below 10 micrometers, making it advantageous for placement within AI semiconductor packages. It also ensures stable power supply even in harsh environments, such as high temperatures and vibrations.
