With the finalization of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States, the opening of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz has been confirmed. This development is generating expectations for the smoother resumption of international trade flows.

At the time, Iran's blockade of the strait resulted in 26 South Korean vessels being stranded, causing detours on international shipping routes and increased transportation costs, which impacted the real economy. The South Korean government has been in continuous consultations with Iranian authorities to secure safe passage for Korean ships.

Last month, the oil tanker 'Universal Winner,' operated by HMM, successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz with permission from Iranian authorities. With this agreement, the Strait of Hormuz is expected to fully reopen, significantly easing restrictions on maritime transport.
