Market employee rescues man who fell from Busan dock

A man in his 50s, who fell into the sea after dozing off on a dock while intoxicated, was safely rescued thanks to a market employee before the coast guard even arrived.

Around 9 a.m. on the 15th, a report was received that a man in his 50s, identified as A, had fallen into the water near a dock close to Jagalchi Market in Jung-gu, Busan. A had been drinking and sleeping near the dock when he lost his balance and fell into the sea.

A market employee, identified as Mr. Noh (53), who was present at the scene, spotted A and immediately put on a life jacket before diving into the water to rescue him. With Noh's help, A was held and prevented from drifting away, subsequently being rescued by the coast guard upon their arrival.

During the rescue, A was unconscious but regained consciousness while receiving emergency treatment from the fire rescue team. He was then transported to a hospital for treatment, and the coast guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. The coast guard expressed their gratitude to Noh for his assistance in the rescue.
