People Power Party Designates Yoon Sang-hyun as Chair of National Investigation Special Committee

The People Power Party announced on the 17th that it has designated five-term lawmaker Yoon Sang-hyun as the chairman of the 'Special Committee for National Investigation to uncover the truth behind infringement of citizens' right to participate in politics, including the ballot shortage during the 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections, and to reform election management.' The People Power Party has named its seven members for the special committee, deciding on Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun as its chairman.

Kim Seung-soo, the People Power Party's Senior Deputy Floor Leader for Operations, conveyed this information to reporters at the National Assembly. The role of the special committee's opposition party floor leader will be handled by Rep. Seo Beom-soo, who also serves as the opposition party's floor leader for the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee.

This special committee is expected to investigate the truth behind incidents infringing citizens' right to participate in politics, including the ballot shortage that occurred during the last local elections, and to explore reform measures for the election management system.
