PPP Floor Leader Jeong Jin-sik Demands Disciplinary Action Against Police Executive from DP Leader Lee Jae-myung

Jeong Jin-sik, Floor Leader of the People Power Party (PPP), has demanded the immediate dismissal of senior Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency officials involved in a controversy over the use of physical force against a parliamentary aide from his party, directing the demand at Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung.

During a party meeting at the National Assembly, Jeong claimed that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Security Division chief assaulted the aide by twisting his arm and grabbing his neck.

He raised questions about the police's ability to fulfill their role as the "stick of the people" for ordinary citizens and the underprivileged, given the security executive's allegedly arrogant behavior in front of lawmakers and their staff.

Jeong announced that the PPP would take strong legal action, and also demanded that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Security Division chief apologize to the victim and the PPP, and promise to prevent recurrence.

This incident could lead to a decline in discipline within the police force and heightened tensions between related organizations.
